Lester H. Campbell, 64, of 605 E. 2600 North St., died this morning at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Campbell had been a genealogical and temple worker in the LDS Church for 27 years and a temple officiator at the LDS Salt Lake Temple for the past 22 years. He was a former member of the old Ogden Stake genealogical board.
He had worked for the Ogden Union Railway and Depot Co. and as a farmer.
He was born June 6, 1892, in North Ogden, a son of Nephi Lorin and Jemima Godfrey Campbell. He married Lena Wettstein on Oct 13, 1916, in the LDS Logan Temple.
Surviving are his widow, two sons and two daughters, Don L. Campbell, Sterling H. Campbell, , both of Ogden; Mrs. DeVaughn (Una) Kershaw, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lloyd (Karma) Shaw, North Ogden; his mother, Preston, Idaho; 14 grandchildren, one brother and sister, Elgin Campbell, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Harold (Myrtle Swainston, Winder, Idaho.
