Oldest son of George Cannon Owens Jr. and Martha Ann Eunice Sweat. Born in Berkley County South Carolina. the family later relocated to Union county South Carolina. Survived by 6 brothers and 2 sisters all residents of South Carolina.
Charlie left South Carolina at a young age, moving to California. He invented a way to distill vinegar without the film forming on top. He could not get a patent. After WWII he sued Heinz Corp eventually winning, becoming rich, and retaining the patent for vinegar.
