Passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., on March 15, 1937 to Nathaniel and Mildred (Chavis) Nolcox. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1955.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. as an auditor, where he worked for 37 years. He was the first black reserve sheriff deputy hired by Gibson County.
He was currently working for Clark Security at Menards.
He lived in the Princeton area all of his life. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Patoka Presbyterian Church. He was a former Little League coach and umpire, and had served as a volunteer tour guide for the Lyles Station School.
He is survived by his wife, Rita (Hughes) Nolcox of Princeton; three sons, Corey Alan Nolcox, Jeffrey Nolcox, and Rodney Nolcox all of Princeton; a granddaughter, Kori Nolcox of Louisville, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; and cousins, Rev. William and Charlotte Morris and Russell Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Felisa Lynn Nolcox in 2007 and infant Terry Denise Nolcox; brother Nathaniel Nolcox Jr.; mother-in-law, Catherine Hardiman; and aunt, Leota Cox.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. William Morris and Evelyn Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka.
V.F.W. Post 1147 will conduct military services at the cemetery.
