Eldest daughter of Frederick Douglass. Her grave is marked with a flat stone bearing the word "Mother". Despite efforts on the part of Douglass family experts her final resting place remained a mystery for decades, the assumption being that she was probably buried in Washington where she died and where her brothers were also buried. A volunteer searching through some long lost burial records at Mount Hope Cemetery stumbled across her name by accident.
