Obituary from the Princeton newspaper on November 21, 1909:
"Mrs. Fannie Sallsbury Coomer, wife of Thomas Coomer, passed away at 10:50 o'clock Wednesday night at her home in Highland Home addition. She was 65 years, 11 months, and 14 days old. Death was caused by complications.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the General Baptist church in charge of Rev. I. C. Cummins and Rev. Milton Boswell. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her deaprture: her husband, Thomas Coomer, who is employed at the Southern railroad shops; nine childern, three daughters and six sons: Mrs Alva Gourley, Mrs. Porter Holland, Mrs. Charles Phillips, all of Princeton, Thomas Coomer, northeast of Princeton, Arthur and Ray Coomer of this city, and John, Herschell, and Frank Coomer at home; twenty-eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Six children preceded her in death.
Mrs Coomer was born in Adair county, Kentucky, December 6, 1863. She had resided in Gibson county the past twenty-three years. She was married to Thomas Coomer, September 25, 1850.
Mrs, Coomer was converted in early life and joined the Mt. Tabor church, to which she belonged at the time of her death. She was a faithful Christian woman.
She was a loyal, devoted wife and a loving mother. She will be sadly missed by her family and by her neighbors and large circle of friends, who knew and loved her."
Note: marriage date of 1850 should have been 1880 but was mistaken in the obituary.
