OBITUARY:
"Elcana Baird, 80 died at Mercy hospital after six weeks' illness. The funeral will be held St. Columbkille's church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivey cemetery. He was born Sept. 14, 1868 in Richmond (sic) Ind. He came to Dubuque 35 years ago He married Margaret Mangner on Nov. 12, 1898 at Galesburg, Ill. He was a cabinet maker at the Farley and Loeacher company for 35 years, retiring six years ago. He was a member of St. Columbkille's parish and St. Columbkille's court, Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Winifred, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Cookerly, of Portland, Ind., and Mrs. John Halteman (sic), of Nawata, Okla. (sic); three brothers, Roy, William and Ira, all of Portland, Ind; a grandson, Joseph Egelhof, and a great-grandson, Michael Egelhof, both of Treamont, Ind.; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Hal Marian, of Treamont, Ind. He was preceded by his parents and three brothers."
