Author, Civil War Confederate Officer. As a private with the Confederate Army, he was captured in 1863 during John Hunt Morgan's Ohio raid, but eventually escaped making his way back to the Confederacy by way of Canada. He was active in Confederate veteran affairs and was a frequent lecturer and contributor of articles.
