From Ontario County Journal 13 May 1875
Frost Town, NY. Our old friend, Perley Diedrick, has gone to his rest. He died on the 26th of April. He was a hard-working, industrious, honest man, and much respected by all who knew him. He was one of our best citizens and will be greatly missed by all.

The Naples Record 1 May 1875
On Monday of this week Perlee Dedrick, aged about 60 years, died at his residence in West Hollow. Mr. Dedrick had been ailing for some time, and was a sufferer; he patiently endured it until at last he was relieved by death's call. He was a kind husband and parent, and was much respected by those who knew him. By his own request while living, a post mortem examination of his remains was made. On the 27th, Tuesday, Dr. Silvernail conducted the examination which resulted as he had said. The heart was enlarged to several times its natural size; the pericardium or heart case was filled with water and certain valves were [oasified]. Death was caused by pressure of water on the lungs, and found in the peculiar condition of drowning.
