Floyd, the 9th of Owen & Charlotte (Belcher) Sizemore's 10 children, was born in Alleghany Co, VA on February 1, 1893.

He married Lethia Virginia Bane, the daughter of Harvey W. & Susan V. (Ford) Bane. Lethia gave birth to four children: Thelma V., Earl Wyatt, Edith M., & Genevieve.

Floyd, age 24, was married & had one child, when he registered for the WWI draft on June 5, 1917. The record showed showed that he was born in Alleghany Co, VA on Feb. 1, 1893. He was employed by T.L. Craft at Jerrys Run, VA as a lumber contractor in the woods. His physical description was tall, medium build, brown hair & eyes.

Lethia had died by the time the Federal Census was taken in Covington, VA on April 6, 1930. Floyd, age 38, was widowed, and had a job in a paper mill as a paper wright. His four children were: Earl Wyatt (14), Thelma (12), & Edith (9), & Genevieve (4 years, 3 months). His 17 year old niece, Beulah V. Sizemore, was living with them.

Floyd, age 49, was married to Lucy Cline when he registered in the WWII draft. They lived in Royal, Warren Co, VA where he worked for Thompson Construction Company in Fort Belvior, VA.

Floyd & Lucy had four children: Floyd Douglas, known as Doug, Leroy, James, & Ernest.

Floyd was diagnosed with Glomerulo-nephritis. He was a patient in Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Covington, VA when he died from Arterio-sclerotic Heart Disease at 7 p.m. on October 21, 1955, at the age of 62. His son, Earl W. Sizemore of 224 Chestnut Drive, Covington, VA, was the informant on his death certificate. He was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery on October 25th.

Floyd B. Sizemore, 62, died in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital, Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. following a brief illness.

He was born in Alleghany County, Feb. 1, 1893, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen Sizemore. He was a carpenter by trade, and had spent the greater part of his life in Alleghany County.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Cline Sizemore, five sons; Earl W. of Covington, Douglas of the U.S. Air Force, Leroy of Kentucky, Jimmy of the U.S. Army and Ernest of Baltimore, Md., and three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Ball of Gibson Station, Mrs. Edith Honaker of Baltimore, Md., and Jenevieve Patton of Marenci, Mich.

Also surviving are two brothers, Arden (should be Harden) Sizemore of Alleghany County and Calvin Sizemore of Hot Springs and three sisters, Mrs. Cosby Hoke of Ogle Creek, Mrs. Zenie (should be Senia) Hoke of Potts Creek and Mrs. Amanda Hoke (should be Self) of Seattle, Wash.

The funeral service will be conducted from the Chapel of the Loving Funeral Home, Monday, October 24 at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. O.R. Wilson, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church.

Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The body will be at the Loving Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Harry Davis, Homer H. Kohne, Charlie Smith, Ernest Burch, John Pierce and Ernest Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Vandevender, Sylvia Entsminger, Claude Wolfe, Roy East, Hatch Harvey, Clyde Gabbert, Arch Kelly, Bittle Craft and Virgil Crowder."

Lucy died in Clifton Forge, VA, almost 47 years later, on August 28, 2002.
