The following memory was shared with me from a dear friend of Calvin's, Tom "Homer" Williams. I would like to share it with all of you.
Calvin was a wonderful & all round nice guy, always in a good mood and loved being a sportsman.
We worked together at the old Indianapolis Stock Yards (the location is now part of an Eli Lilly plant), we were Weighmasters there.
He weighed livestock at the Indianapolis Stock Yards (this is back in the early 60's) and weighed cattle, sheep and hogs and was a very loyal employee.
Calvin was a sportsman and once on a fishing trip in Canada, a black bear attacked him, and luckily he was armed and killed the bear. He had a rug made from it and at his funeral the bear rug and head was on top of his coffin looking down on him! Most unusual but he was so proud of that trophy.
Thanks to Contributor, Tom "Homer" W. for permission to use the nice grave marker photos.
