John Wilson Albritton was the eldest son of J.R. Albritton, and Susanah "Susan" (Fowler) Albritton

The following information is based on the research by Leah Stubbs, member #48433522

John W. Albritton was born in Snow Hill, Wilcox County, Alabama, according to the grave marker. According to the death certificate, the place of birth was Thelma, Alabama. (The town of Thelma, Alabama no longer exists. There was a Thelma Post Office in operation for a time, north of Rockford in what is known today as Coosa County, Alabama.) The informant on the death certificate isn't entirely legible, and is possibly the younger sister to J.W.

John's family appears on 1860 Census Record in Union County, Louisiana, when he was 6 years old. This 1860 Record indicates the two parents, and four children: Wm R Albritton (34; and most likely the first name being an error by the record-taker, as that the name above J.R.'s on the record is [also] "Wm"); Susan Albritton (33); M J Albritton (8); J W Albritton (6); M C Albritton (4); W H E Albritton (1).

In 1868-1869, John W. Albritton's parents moved from Union Parish Louisiana back to Snow Hill, Wilcox County Alabama, where they remained for several years. John married Emma E. Ware in Dallas County (near Snow Hill) on 27 September 1871. They had two infant sons born in 1873 and 1874, both buried in the Snow Hill Cemetery. It does not appear that they had any additional children. After their second son's death, they moved with John's parents and uncles to Texas. apparently settling in Navarro County. John's parents and some siblings appear on an 1880 Census Record in Freestone County, Texas, but John and Emma have not been located.

John W. Albritton and his wife Emma appear on the 1910 Census Record in Navarro County, Texas; on the 1920 Census Record in Harris County, Texas; and on the 1930 Census Record in Hill County, Texas.

John died 3 days after his 87th birthday, almost a year and a half after the death of his wife. At the time of his death, he resided at the couple's home located in Hillsboro, Hill County, Texas.
