"JUNE C. RICHARDS NIEWOEHNER, 78, of West Lafayette, died Monday June 23, 1997, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Glen Karn, Ohio, and had lived in Richmond for 35 years before retiring to Lake Lure, NC. A graduate of Whitewater (Ind.) High School, she was a science major at Purdue University. During World War II, she was manager of women's personnel for International Harvester. For 25 years, she was vice president of Niewoehner, Plumbing and Heating Inc., along with her husband ROBERT L. NIEWOEHNER.
Her research and service resulted in fluoridation of water for the City of Richmond. She was a member of Forest Hills Country Club, the Elks Country Club, and League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women. She also was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include three daughters, COURTNEY DONOVAN of Hudson, Ohio, VICKI ANDERSON of West Lafayette and ROBERTA ROSSI of Edmond, Okla.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Richmond. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society."
