Major League Baseball Player. Played Major League Baseball as a catcher for eight seasons (1943, 1945 to 1951) with the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox. He made his Major League debut on May 6, 1943 with the Yankees, then didn’t play until 1945 due to military service. He became the Yankees regular catcher for 1946 and 1947, made the All-Star team in 1947, and helped them to the World Series that year. He played in three of seven games of the Series, and batted .200 as the Yanks downed the Brooklyn Dodgers 4 Games to 3. With the emergence of future Hall of Famer Yogi Berra as New York's top catcher, Aaron Robinson was dealt to the White Sox after the Series. He played one year with Chicago before moving over to Detroit, where he was their prime backstop for the next two seasons. After splitting the 1951 season between Detroit and Boston, he retired with career totals of 610 Games Played, 478 Hits, 208 Runs, 61 Home Runs, 272 RBIS and a career .260 Batting Average.
