Dudley Dorn (Dorrington?) Beauchamp was a son of Capt. Finis Dudley Beauchamp (1825-1893), a Confederate Cavalry officer, and his wife Mary Caroline Patton (1829-1915), who came from Mississippi to Texas in the early 1870s. His paternal grandparents were John Beachum & his wife Anna (perhaps Hester) of Itawamba Co., Miss., and his maternal grandparents were John Dorrington Patton & his wife Sarah Spaulding, of Fayette Co., Ala.

Dorn was married twice, first to Mary Ann Josephine Slimp (16 May 1860-31 Jan. 1893) in 1881, and second to Minnie M. Balch (c.1876-?) in 1904. There were four children born of the first marriage: an infant daughter (born & died 6 Oct. 1882), Lula Mae (1884-1967, Mrs. James Harris Byrom, Find A Grave # 46711288), Edward (1887-1923), and William Bryant "Bill" (1890/1-1958).

Dorn is said to have died in an automobile accident in 1921, but I can't seem to find a death record for him.
