Rosa A. Ramirez, 61, of Indio, Calif. passed away January 19, 2011 due to heart failure. She was born September 17, 1949 to Francisco Alvarado and Maria Luisa Gutierrez in Laredo, Texas.
She married Luciano Ramirez on June 11, 1967 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
She was a Cardinal Distributing Company employee for nine years. She was a Valley Missionary member from 1970-1980's.
Rosa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed; she fought a good fight and lived life her way. She was admired by many for her strength and will to live.
She is survived by her husband, Luciano Ramirez of Indio; daughter, Norma Ramirez; sons, Daniel Ramirez, Luciano Bebo Ramirez, Ramiro Ramirez, all of Indio; her mother, Maria Luisa Ortiz; sisters, Juani Ortiz and Gela Ortiz; brother, Ramiro Alvarado, all of Laredo, Texas. In addition, she leaves seven grandchildren, Checo, Julian, Chris, Issac, Jalynn, Tony and D.J. She was preceded in death by her brother, Julio Ortiz.
Visitation will be held from 4-10:00 PM on January 26, 2011 with a rosary at 6:00 PM at Casillas Family Funeral Home, Coachella, CA. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, January 27, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Indio. Burial will take place at the Coachella Valley Cemetery with Casillas Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
