Lillian M. (Harris) Soderberg, 96, of 9 Walnut Dr., passed away peacefully in her son's home on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, with family members by her side. Lillian was born in Worcester the daughter of George P. and Emma (Vient) Harris, and lived 40 years in Holden before moving to Sterling to live with her son in 1993.

Her beloved husband of 55 years, Carl F. Soderberg died in 1991. She left three sons, George R. Soderberg and his wife Joyce of Venice, FL, James E. Soderberg and his wife Joan of Madison, CT and Thomas C. Soderberg and his wife Maryann with whom she lived; a brother, Robert Harris of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Louise Hadley of Holden, Evelyn Messier and Dorothy Whitney both of Worcester; eight grandchildren, George Soderberg, II, Pastor Adam Soderberg, John Soderberg, Steven Soderberg, Suzanne Soderberg, Brendon Soderberg, Gavin Soderberg and April Lee Soderberg; three step grandchildren, Francis and Kevin Beaupre, and Maryann Courchesne; fourteen great grandchildren. She is predeceased by two brothers, John and Edward Harris and three sisters, Charlotte Harris, Nell Fahy, and Leoda Frappier.

Lillian is remembered by her family and friends for her selfless nature and many acts of kindness. Whether working or being a full time mom, her love and concern for family and friends always came first. She is dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 1st at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 2nd at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Interment followed at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southwest Indian Relief Council, P.O. Box 16777, Mesa, AZ, 85211.
