Susanna was born to John Abner Harris and Mary Prichard. She married William P Martin I and had 12 children including James Harris. William P. Jr.. Mary Fae, Benjamin Franklin, Nancy C., Elizha A. Samson A. Jesse W. Joseph J., Susan Jane, Isaac W (Ike) Martin.
They migrated from the Clarsville Tn area to Yazoo County MS. Several of the sons were in the Confederate Army.
William Martin was born in North Carolina. Nine of his children were born I Tennessee and three were born in Mississippi. Evidently all of Williams Children came with their parents to Mississippi – William P. (Jr.) did and he was the third child born to his parents.
Susanna Harris Martin is buried at Ogden Cemetery. Bob Hilderbrand, son of Susan Jane Martin Hilderbrand, said he remembers his grandmother's death. His mother had to ride a horse to the funeral. The belly band broke and she did not get to her mother's funeral. I suppose she was buried by her husband William Martin.
