RALPH M WOLFE WAS THE SON OF ROY SAMUEL AND HAZEL ELLIS WOLFE.
KINGSPORT – Ralph M. Wolfe, age 83, of Kingsport passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 30, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Hawkins County on December 18, 1927. Ralph had resided in Kingsport for the last 23 years. He was a faithful member and deacon of Freedom Baptist Church of Mount Carmel. He retired from Air Products (now Air Gas). He served in the U.S. Army.
Ralph was preceded in death by his loving and devoted first wife, Mary (Bland) Wolfe (1986); parents, Roy S. (1987) and Hazel Ellis Wolfe (1988); infant sister and brother; sister, Betty Webb (2003); brother, James "Jim" Wolfe (2010); grandparents, R. T. and Elsie (Calhoun) Ellis and Charles "C. D." and Mary (Dishner) Wolfe; brothers-in-law; Earl Bland and Curtis Ellis.
Surviving are his loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Glover; wife, Marie Wolfe; sisters, Jean and O. W. Ferguson, Wanda and Gordon Hood; sister-in-law, Nova Wolfe; brother-in-law, Reverend Hagan Webb; and a special brother-in-law, David L. Bland; step-daughter, Jeanie and Jim Hicks.
Family will receive friends at the home of Brenda Glover. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill with Reverend Andy Sensabaugh and Reverend Hagan Webb officiating. Military graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 according the military rites.
