Mr. Driggs was born and lived a greater part of his life in Monroe county and was engaged in the baking business. He served, 1861-1864 in Co's B and A of the 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, starting as a Sergeant and promoted to 2d Lt and 1st Lt.. He was married to Lucetta Read Driggs. He was the son of Alfred D. Driggs and Mother Elizabeth Morris Driggs. In his obituary, it is stated that, then Sgt. Driggs, was one of 9 men to lead the charge against the Louisiana Tigers on Cemetery Hill, July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg,PA.
