| Birth: | Feb. 16, 1926, Germany | | Death: | Mar. 9, 1945, Germany | Holocaust Victim, sister of Anne Frank. She was born and raised in Germany, until with her parents Otto and Edith, and younger sister Anne, they moved to the Netherlands, due to the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. The family moved to the district of Merwedeplein. Margot proved herself an excellent pupil in her studies. The Franks tried to enjoy as normal a life as possible, until in 1940, the Germans invaded the Netherlands. The summons arrived one morning for her, and this forced the family to go into hiding, to a house on the Prinsengracht, looked after by trusted helpers. The family lived in hiding here with the Van Pels', and a dentist, Fritz Pfeffer, for several years until they were betrayed. They were arrested and sent to Westerbork, before being separated to go to different concentration camps. Margot was with her mother and sister Anne, until in the end just Margot and Anne were together in Bergen Belsen, where in the midmonth of March, 1945, both of these precious girls perished and were buried in a mass grave.
