Joseph Bicchieri, 91, of Nashua, NH, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a period of declining health. He was born on March 10, 1920, in Waltham, MA, the son of Nunzio andAntonetta (Gonnelli) Bicchieri.
Joe enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Crowley as a Machinist's Mate, First Class, during World War II. In 1947, he married his wife, Dorothy Ann (Webster) and they raised their family together in Wayland in 1952, before moving to West Yarmouth in 1986.
They had moved in Nashua in 2001.
Joe and Dorothy were married for 62 years until Dorothy's death in 2009.
He was a maintenance manager at the Itek Corporation in Lexington where he worked for over forty years. Joe was an avid gardner and a fan of auto racing. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and watching hockey and football. Joe will especially be remembered for his love of telling jokes and making others laugh.
He is survived by his children, David J. Bicchieri of Nashua, NH and Janice L. Nagle and her husband, Rick, of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Joseph Bicchieri, Melissa Ianconne, Johanna Nagle, and Christina Nagle; his great grandchildren, Enzo and Angelo Ianconne; his siblings, Ann Schandelmayer, Elenor Brennan, Emma LaBelle, Josephine Carlson, Elsie Beausoleil, Louise Ferla, and Ralph Bicchieri; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was also the brother of the late Tony Bicchieri, Anna Chisholm, Frank Bicchieri, Lee Nee, Mary Gullotti, and John Bicchieri.
