William moved with his family to Urich, Henry Co. at the age of ten. He owned and operated a barber shop on Main Street for over forty years.

Bill was a talented musician, as was his brother Allan. Bill played the trombone, guitar and mandolin, and was a member of the Urich Band. He was also a member of the War Dads of World War II, as both sons served in the armed services.
