Adam Gale Malloy
Birth: Sep. 10, 1830
Death: Nov. 10, 1911

Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General. Born in Ireland, he served in the Civil War first as a Captain in the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry before being promoted to Colonel and commander of the 17th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry. He was brevetted Brigadier General, US Volunteers on March 13, 1865 for "gallant and meritorious services". When the United States Army was reorganized in 1866, he accept a commission of 1st Lieutenant in the Regular Army. He served at this rank until 1870, when he was honorably discharged. After his military service he served as a Government official in the Internal Revenue, Customs, and Immigration service. He died in Escondidio, California in 1911. (bio by: Russ Dodge)
