He grew up and attended school in Idaho Falls. Fred started working at age 14 and served in the Air Force between 1942 and 1946. He worked for the School Districts, Garrett Freightlines and H&K Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Belle, of Ririe; his children, Dewey Simpson, of Pocatello, Sheila (Tom) Hogan, of Ririe, Ralph (Colleen) Simpson, of Ririe, Julia (Jim) Champion, Homestead Florida; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 grandson, and 1 great granddaughter.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at the Ririe/Shelton Cemetery in Ririe, with Pastor John Milloway, officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. Military rites will be under the direction of the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
