Daughter of the late Henry Charles and Estelle Easterling, she was the widow of Russell Swindell (married 57 years). Additionally, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She was survived by daughters, Sue Martin (Arthur) and Mary-Anne Brannon (Bobby), son, A.B. Swindell (Diane); sister, Sallie Mann (T.J.); sisters-in-law, Janie Swindell and Mary-Louise McGee); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gary where her funeral was held on January 10, 2009.
