STEELEVILLE -- Blanche N. Rees, 86, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Coulterville Care Center.

Blanche was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Percy to Ernst and Ruth Steele Deppe. She married William E. Rees on March 30, 1946, in Pinckneyville. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1999.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Percy and a past member of Percy American Legion Auxiliary.

Blanche was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Ruth Rees of Steeleville, Deborah (Ed) Tope of Shelbyville and Bill (Kelly) Rees of Steeleville; grandchildren, Shawn (Beth) Tope of Shelbyville, Dana (Keith) Manship of Shelbyville, Ashley (Jason) Rednour of Steeleville and Brooke Rees of Steeleville; great-grandchildren, Derek, Haley, Logan, Abby, Drake, Christian, Braydin, Camden, Seth and Carson; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Taylor, Jhett, Gradey and Gracey; one great-great-grandson, Wade; and one sister, Jewel Middendorf of Percy.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, in Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, with the Rev. Dr. Matthew A. Jaiah officiating. Burial will be in Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
