Naples, N. Y. - On Friday evening at 9 o'clock at the family home on East avenue, Mrs. Sarah Dedrick Yaw, wife of Joel Yaw, passed away after a long illness.

Mrs. Yaw was born in Naples 71 years ago and had spent her entire life in this town.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Hiram Bailey of West Bloomfield, and Miss Ruby Yaw, of Naples.

The funeral services were held from the home on Monday afternoon with Rev. J. H. France in charge. obit provided by FAG acl

Naples Record 26 August 1876 HILL TOWN.- -The hop picking mania is upon us. Joel Yaw commenced picking Thursday; 50 pickers will make quick work for his small yard. Mrs. Yaw and little boy was coming from Honeoye last week in a buggy; in crossing the gully near Esq. Davis' the horse from some cause commenced backing, and all went into the gully together—smashing up things generally; Mrs. Yaw was severely injured.

H. France officiating and the burial was in Rose Ridge. Mrs. Yaw was born in Naples and lived here nearly her entire life except a few years in East Bloomfield. Her age was 71 years, 7 months and 17 days. Deceased is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ida Bailey of East Bloomfield, Miss Ruby Yaw of Naples, two sons, Purl Yaw and Edson Yaw. Mrs. Yaw's maiden name was Miss Sarah Deidrick, daughter of Purlee and Angeline Sutton Deidrick."

The Naples Record 29 December 1915 At her home in East avenue, this village, last Saturday, December 35, 1915, occurred the death of Mrs. Joel Yaw, aged 77 years and 7 months. She had been ill for several months. Her maiden name was Sarah Dedrick, and she had been a life-long resident of this vicinity. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Purl T. Yaw, of Naples, and Edson Yaw, of Pennsylvania, and two daughters, Mrs. Hiram Bailey, of East Bloomfield, and Miss Ruby Yaw, who lives at home and has been untiring in the care of her mother. Funeral services were held from the home at 2pm on Monday, conducted by Dr. J. H. France. Interment was in Rose Ridge cemetery.

Yaw will sell at auction on her farm in West Hollow three work horses, two new milk cows, one spring calf, lumber wagon, truck wagon, open buggy top buggy, road cart, pair bobs, two cutters, wheel rake, mower, fanning mill, harnesses, plows, 150 bushels oats and peas, 50 bushels buckwheat, 50 bushels wheat, a quantity of hay and straw, and many other things not mentioned. Naples, Dec. 29 - The funeral of Mrs. Joel Yaw was held from the home in East Avenue Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. H. France, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Sarah Dedrick Yaw was born in Naples, the daughter of Purlee and Angeline Sutton Dedrick, and a great part of her life was spent here. She had been an invalid for about seven years and died early Saturday morning, December 25th, aged 71 years and seven months. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Purl of Naples and Edson, living in Pennsylvania; also by two daughters, Mrs. Ida Bailey of East Bloomfield and Ruby, living at home.
