Canadian politician and jurist. Born in Saint-Grégoire-le-Grand (Québec), on March 13, 1848. He studied at the Sainte-Marie-of-Monnoir College and at Victoria College. He was admitted to the Bar of the Province of Québec on September 27, 1870. He taught History of Law at McGill University from 1874 to 1880. He was created Queen Counsel in law on September 10, 1879. He contributed as journalist to the papers “Le Pays” from 1870 to 1870, “Le National” in 1872 and “La Patrie” and “Le Temps” in 1883.He was part of the management team of Lower Canada Jurist magazine and became a collaborator to “La Revue internationale des lois” based in Ghent, in Belgium. In 1886, He was elected Liberal representaive for the district of Rouville to the Legislative Assembly. He died in function in Montréal, on April 21, 1890.
