Flushing Evening Journal Obituary: Edward Connors, one of the oldest residents of Flushing, died at his home 332 Bayside avenue, Sunday with a complication of diseases, aged 86 years. Mr Connors was born in County Tyrone, Ireland. He came to Flushing seventy years ago and began farming and for almost half a century he worked the old Browne farm. He retired seventeen years ago and since that time had lived in his home on Bayside Avenue. Mr. Connors was a lover of horses and it was always said that he never owned a poor horse. He was of a quiet unassuming nature and his home was his favorite place. he was married fifty-nine years ago to Miss Mary Leys of Scotland, and their golden wedding anniversary wedding was celebrated in 1907. His wfe survives with two sons and four daughters. The children are: Edward Connors of Flushing, a contractor;John Connors, a letter carrier attached to the Flushing office; Mrs. Catherine Sweeney who has been living with her parents; Mrs. Mary Green of Flushing; Mrs. M.J. Kastner of 395 Amity Street Flushing; and Mrs. Margretta Connors who lives with her parents. Funeral Services at the house Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock; thence to St. Michael's Church.
