Evelyn M. Brevik, 86, Grand Forks, died Monday, July 11, 2011 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Evelyn Maxine Froslie was born to Adolph and Ida (Olson) Froslie on December 7, 1924 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fargo North Dakota. She was raised and educated in the Barnesville-Rothsay, Minnesota area, graduating from Barnesville High School in 1945. On May 15, 1947, she graduated with honors from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. Evelyn and Harvey Brevik were united in marriage on June 27, 1948 at Rothsay, Minnesota. In July of 1948, they moved to Larimore, North Dakota where together they established Brevik's Pharmacy. Evelyn was also employed at the United Hospital Rehabilitation Center, and later as a Sam's Club sampler, until her retirement in 2008.

She was interested in history and would follow the travels of the family using a globe, map and atlas. She was an expert bread and donut connoisseur. She enjoyed bird watching and reading,

Evelyn is survived by her children, Denise (Wayne) Carlson, Mandan, ND, Dirk Brevik, Fargo, ND, Anita Farrell (David Farrell) Grand Forks, and Jon Brevik, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Lisa (Dustin) Jackson, Bryant (Brooke) Carlson, Amanda (Josh) Boyer, Brandi (Corey) Enger, Tracey (Dave) Faltersack, Shawna Brevik, Casey Brevik, great-grandchildren, Brooke, Peyton, Hadley, Jozlyn, and Adam; a brother, Raymond (Florence) Froslie, Barnesville, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Harvey, who died June 18, 1976.

Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Sharon Lutheran Church, 1720 So. 20th St., Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and one hour prior to the service in the church.
Interment: West Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, North Dakota.
