Mary Ella Carpenter Anderson Greenway of Good Samaritan Village in Denton, Texas, died July 8, 2011 at the age of 94. Mrs. Greenway was born September 4, 1916, to H. A. and Celeste Carpenter in Louisiana. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women, and received her Master's Degree from the University of Alabama. Mrs. Greenway taught many years at Sunflower Jr. College (now MDCC), and then instructed at Greenville AF Base, Amarilla AF Base, and Keelser AF Base with her husband, George Greenway.
Mrs. Greenway is survived by her husband, George W. Greenway of Sulphur Springs, Texas, daughter, Lease 'Dickie' Plimpton of Little Compton, NJ, son, John Aubrey Anderson and wife, Nan of Denton, TX, brother, Dr. Will Carpenter and wife, Hellen, of Chesterfield, MO, sisters, Tiny Sullivan of Jackson, MS, and Anice Powerll of Sunflower, MS, four granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. A. and Celeste Carpenter, Sister, Alma Abdo, brother, Aubrey Carpenter, and grandson Kris Plimpton.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Belzoni Cemetary in Belzoni, Mississippi.
