US Navy Rear Admiral. Baldridge graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1902. He became the Commanding Officer of the USS Stockton in World War I. The Stockton patrolled the Atlantic waters which were saturated with enemy submarines and mines, protecting shipping supplies and protecting vitally important convoys of troops. For these dangerous duties he was awarded the Navy Cross. He was promoted to Captain in 1924 and on January 28, 1928 became the Commanding Officer of the USS Rochester. He next was assigned as Director of Naval Intelligence from June 1930 to May 1931. Baldridge retired in 1932 and was promoted to Rear Admiral in 1950. After his retirement he was the curator of the U.S. Naval Academy's museum. (bio by: Saratoga)
