For 12 years, throughout the 1980's, Huck helped manage his uncle, Ralph Risby's, supper club, known as the Ebony Diner and Dance Club, in Tulsa, Okla. Following that, Huck owned and operated Huck's Carry Out Bar-B-Que in 2002. In 2005, he opened Sweet A & Huck's To Go in Arlington.
By faith, Huck was a holiest Christian.
On Feb. 14, 1980, he married Donna White, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: a sister, Barbara Moye Barnes, Tulsa, Okla.; a half-brother, Willie Gene Moye, and wife, Clara, Oklahoma City; a half-sister, Jacqueline Moye Manning and husband, Garland, Enid, Okla.; a host of half and step family members; and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Norvelle Austin; and a stepsister, LaVeria Johnson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Melvin Watson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the McGee Chapel Foundations of Life Ministries, Hospice of Reno County or the Arthur "Hucklebuck" Moye Jr. Memorial Fund, all in care of the funeral home.
