Doris Bowen Frost, a member of St. Johns Cathedral died in Denver on November 24th from complications of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Doris was born in Llano, Texas on November 27, 1916, the daughter of Robert Chesley Bowen, a noted Texas transportation pioneer and owner of the Bowen Trailways Bus Company, and Ramah Cochran Bowen.

She was the granddaughter of B. B. Cochran, a Texas rancher and real estate developer, and Julia McGuire Cochran. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, and graduated with a B.A. in English from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1937. She attended graduate school at Colorado College in Colorado Springs Colorado, and received a teaching certificate in 1939.

Doris was a homemaker who raised a family of four sons. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Johns Cathedral in Denver, Colorado, and she was a devoted supporter of Grace Episcopal Church Mission in Georgetown, Colorado from 1954 to the time of her death.

Doris married Hildreth Frost, Jr. in Fort Worth, Texas on December 27, 1938 and had four children:

Robert Hildreth Frost, a Professor of Metallurgy at the Colorado School of Mines;

Edmund Bowen Frost, an environmental attorney in Washington, D.C.;

Harold Jefferson Frost, Professor of Engineering at the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College; and

George Marcum Frost, a real estate investment and management professional.

She was preceded in death by her son George and by Hildreth Frost Jr., her husband of 64 years. She is survived by her sons Robert and his wife Katherine of Golden, CO, Edmund and his wife Molly of Washington, D.C., and her son Harold of Etna, N.H.; Roberts children Katherine Frost Webster, her husband Shawn Robert Webster and their son Jonathan Frederick Webster, Hildreth Robert Frost, his wife Jennifer Parker Frost and their son Daniel Parker Frost; Edmunds children Julia Frost Nerbonne, her husband Brian Nerbonne and their son Lucas Frost Nerbonne, Elizabeth Everett Frost, Edmund Nicholas Frost and Luette Spitzer Frost, and Harolds children William Henderson-Frost and Josephine Henderson-Frost.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m.on Monday, December 1, at St. Johns Episcopal Cathedral, 1313 Clarkson. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that gifts be made to the Grace Episcopal Church Historical Foundation, P.O. Box 5, Georgetown, Colorado 80444.
