One of 97 photos from an album of Wesleyan University students in Middletown, CT 1866-1871.
Some names were written underneath the photo in the album - in those cases I have copied the info to the back of the photo in pencil.
Many of these men put their education on hold to serve their country in the Civil War, and their service is shown in the Alumni Record and also in my listing.

1861-3, Served in 24th New York Volunteers; was in the engagements at Fredericksburgh, Bull's Run (second). South Mountain, Fredericksburgh (second), and Chancellorsville. 1870-3, Studied in School of Theology, Boston University. 1872, Joined Providence Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church. 1873, B. D., Boston Theological Seminary. 1871, 2, Stationed at Barnstable and Yarmouth, Mass. ; 1873, Allen St , New Bedford; 1874, Dighton ; 1875, South Harwich; 1876-8, Truro and South Truro ; 1879-81, Chatham ; 1881, Diamond Hill. R. I.
Married, April 2, 1873, Miss Mary F. Reed of Cortland, N. Y. 1881, Address : Diamond Hill, Providence Co., R. I.
