Fay Rivera Bissell, 59, passed away after a 5-year battle with multiple myeloma on Feb. 17, 2003 in Houston, TX. She was born Oct. 30, 1943 in New Orleans, LA.
Fay has been a resident of The Woodlands, TX for 25 years. She contributed over 35 years to nursing and most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer at Kingwood Medical Center. Fay previously worked at Conroe Regional Medical Center for almost 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Rivera.
Fay is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert Bissell of The Woodlands, TX; mother, Thelma Rivera of New Orleans, LA; daughters, Robin Bissell and Rhonda Bissell of The Woodlands, TX; sisters, Barbara Alleman of New Orleans, LA and Sandra Rivera of Spring, TX; brother, Jack Rivera of Cary, NC.
The family will receive friends Wed., Feb. 19, 2003, from 6-9 pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thurs., Feb. 20, 2003, at 1:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3901 S. Panther Creek, The Woodlands, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Fay's name.
