Following an illness of 12 days, Mrs. Nellie Francis Petrie, 60, of 419 N. Garfield Ave., died in the City Hospital at 2:15 p.m. yesterday.
She was the widow of William W., who died in 1959, and daughter of the late Forest and Sarah Salsbury.
A native of Sistersville, W.Va., Mrs. Petrie lived in Alliance 48 years. She was a member of the Bethany United Presbyterian Church and the Pythian Sisters.
Survivors are a son, Walter Hardman of Alliance; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Barber of Alliance and Mrs Ida Wolfenbarger of Maitland, Fla.; two stepsons, William of California and Gordon of Cleveland and a stepdaughter, Mrs. James Reid of California.
Also surviving are three brothers, Homer Salsbury of Muncie, Ind.; Paul Salsbury of Highland Park, Calif.; and Robert of Alliance; and three sisters, Mrs. Flora Durm of Alliance; Mrs. Clara Anderson of Minerva and Mrs. Julia Groux of Wheeling. Also eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. Cloyd Kress. Burial will be made in City Cemetary.
