Richard Lee Anderson, age 61, of Naperville, IL, passed away on July 12, 2011. Born in San Antonio, TX in March 1950, Richard was a graduate of Highlands High School, and Texas State University, majoring in Psychology. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy, in 1972, and the family was complete with the birth of their daughter, Ashley, in 1991. A soul of quiet caring, his wife and daughter were foremost in his life. Being with his family was what he loved most. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, and had an eye for photography. His humor was best expressed through sharing simple stories of family and friends. These stories were brought to life by the enthusiasm he displayed in the telling. Richard had a long and successful career with Sears, advancing from a sales position during his college days, to a Marketing/Advertising Manager at Sears headquarters upon retirement. He is survived by his loving wife Judy (Hempel) Anderson; and their daughter, Ashley Anderson; sisters Lin Dickerson and husband Jerry; Pam Martinez and husband Juan; nieces Chris Lacey and Catherine Jaroschy; nephew Gui Jaroschy; and Judy's parents, Marion and Harry Hempel. In addition to family, his loss will be felt by friends and associates. The family wishes to express gratitude to those who were so helpful during Richard's illness, especially Fred Ciba, and CNS Hospice. Visitation Saturday, July 16, 12 noon, until time of service at 1 p.m., Bethany Lutheran Church, 1550 Modaff Rd., Naperville, IL 60565. Interment Naperville Cemetery.
