--As printed in the Cresbard Beacon, Thursday, April 29, 1916. From the archive of the Faulk County Library:

To the many friends of my beloved husband who so generously and devotedly provided flowers and other necessary attentions during the sickness, death and burial, I can but feebly express my gratitude through the Beacon. Trusting that each and every one of you will receive a rich reward for your every kindness to me, I am very truly,
Mrs. Minnetta B. Weidman.

-A FITTING TRIBUTE-

Following the death and burial of Cresbard's beloved doctor, the question arose among his friends far and near as to a proper way of further honoring his memory and it was decided to erect a monument at the grave, not as a matter of charity, but as a mark of honor and respect of the people of the entire territory where-in he has labored.. Accordingly a citizens meeting was held Tuesday evening, and a committee, consisting of P. W. Loomis, Wm. Lockwood, W. H. Hendrick, T. F. Forsyth and Geo. Ham was appointed to devise ways and means for the circulation of subscription papers throughout the territory, that beach and all may have the opportunity to contribute, much or little as they see fit, for the construction of a suitable community monument. No one will be slighted, but if the list should not reach you at home you will find one at each of the business houses in Cresbard, or with any member of the above committee.
