Woodrow (Woody) Myers, 59, of Vandergrift RD2, died Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. in Armstrong County memorial Hospital.

He was employed by the Linde Division of Union Carbide Corp., Kittanning. He lived most of his life in the Vandergrift area and belonged to the Highfield Lutheran Church in Parks Twp., and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons in Vandergrift. He was also a member of the Coudersport Consistory and the Kiski Valley Button Club.

He was born Sept. 9, 1916 in Sligo, the son of Phillip and Minnie (Tacker) Myers. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Heckman) Myers.

He is also survived by two sons, Ronald of Burrell Twp., and Donald of West Falls, N.Y.; two brothers, Milo and Ralph, both of Parks Twp.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Esther) Yost of Parks Twp and Mrs. Clarence (Eva) Rearick of Burrell Twp., and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Nelson in 1937, Leonard in 1938, a sister, Mrs. Mellissa Furman in 1968 and a brother, Floyd in 1971.

MYERS -- Friends of Woodrow (Woody) Myes [sic], who died April 13, 1976, will be received at the Dunmire-Kerr Funeral Home, 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be Friday at the Highland Lutheran Church with his pastor, the Rev. John Ludwig, officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the Highland Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Dunmire-Kerr.
