Arthur Trapp was born in Arkansas in 1898. He married Alma Helton and they had four children - Newell, Robert, Doyle, and Claudine. In September, 1932, he succumbed to chronic lung disease, purportedly pulmonary tuberculosis, at age 34, leaving his wife with four young children to raise in the 1930's in Oklahoma.
Because of the financial hardship of supporting her children alone, Alma remarried within a few weeks of Arthur's death to John M. Wilson, with whom she had two more children, Martina and Vyron. Alma died in 1971 of chronic heart disease.
