US Congressman. Elected to represent Missouri's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1857 to 1861. Also served as a Member of the Missouri State House of Representatives from 1840 to 1844, Candidate for Presidential Elector from Missouri in 1844, 1848, and 1852, and Delegate to the Missouri State Constitutional Convention in 1845.
