Jack Cornelius Chamberlin, 88, of Mansfield died Friday, July 8, 2011, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland.
Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Mount Victory, he was the son of Otis and Opal (Cramer) Chamberlin. A veteran of the United States Army, he served in Europe during World War II. Jack was self-employed, having owned the Loudonville Restaurant and after his retirement, had worked as a greeter at Meijer.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Horner) Chamberlin; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Carol Chamberlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe Robinson; a daughter-in-law, Rose Chamberlin; 11 grandchildren, Tina, Sam, Stephanie, Marcus, Kathy, Teresa, Greg, Pam, Michelle, Christopher and Amanda; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Junior Chamberlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack "Steve" Chamberlin; two brothers, Joe and Jim Chamberlin; and a sister, Wilma Orsborn.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 11, 2011, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario.
Funeral services will take place 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the funeral home with additional calling hours one hour prior to the service, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to Brethren Care Village.
