~~~Claude Crisp Farmer, Jr., age 66, of Richmond died Friday, March 19, 2004 after a prolonged illness.
~~Surviving are his wife, Mildred Lee (Millie) Taylor Farmer; sons, Taylor Bronaugh Farmer and his wife, Angela Clyde Farmer, and Paul Crisp Farmer; grandchildren, Catherine Marie (Katie) Farmer and John Taylor Farmer; and his brother, Dr. Evan Ragland Farmer.
~~Born in Richmond on December 10, 1937, Mr. Farmer was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Randolph-Macon College, and the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
~~He will be remembered for holding membership, office, or being awarded by the Henrico County Bar, Virginia State Bar, Sandston Rotary Club, Boy Scouts of America Troop 723 at All Saints Episcopal Church, Robert E. Lee Council Boy Scouts of America and the Home Builders Association.
~~Mr. Farmer retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army on December 10, 1997. He retired from the Judge Advocate Generals' Corps, U.S.Army Reserve as a Lt. Col., Staff Judge Advocate in May of 1988 and earned two Meritorious Service Medals. Mr. Farmer also practiced law in the Virginia Attorney Generals office. He was in private practice with the firm of Bremner, Byrne and Baber, and later with the firm of Farmer, Starr and Holmes, retiring in 1998. Funeral services held 9 a.m. Thursday, March 25 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Interment was in the Monticello Graveyard at Monticello on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with military honors.
