National League umpire. Lou Jorda umpired in the Major Leagues with the National League for 18 years, from 1927 to 1931, and again from 1940 to 1952. He umpired 2,508 regular season games in addition to umpiring the 1941 and 1951 All-Star Games, and the 1945 and 1949 World Series. He was married to Vera Kershaw and had a beer agency in Southern California with his associate and fellow umpire Beans Reardon. Featured in Norman Rockwell's famous painting "Bottom of the Sixth," along with Reardon and Larry Goetz.
