QUINTER -- Ellen Elizabeth Bentley, 72, died Friday, Dec. 31, at the Gove County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 5, 1910, at Rozel, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Haun) Blattner. She was a resident of Quinter since 1944 and a registered nurse who practived nursing until Sept. 24, 1944, when she married Ross Bentley at Rozel. He died March 22, 1981. She was a member of the Quinter Church of the Brethern.
Survivors include a stepson, Wendell Bentley, Shields; a foster son, Iver Tokoi, Utica; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts, Shields, and Evelyn Ewing, Hays; five brothers, Sanford Blattner, Dallas, Joe Blattner, Denver, Charles Blattner, Cimmaron and Eugene Blattner and Calvin Blattner, both of Rozel, Charlotte Becker, Nekoma; a sis-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Blattner, Rozel; and severl grand children and great grand children.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Quinter Church of the Brethern, the Rev. Alton McDaniel offficiating; burial in the Gove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hendricks Funeral Chapel, Quinter, and from 11 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Memorials have been established with the long term care unit of the hospital or the church.
