A Little One Is Taken

LaDonna June Arlington, aged one year and two months and four days, died of pneumonia Sunday, March 15th, after only a week's illness. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Arlington of Salina, the little one had been visiting relatives -- the Bentleys -- near Jerome when death occurred.

LaDonna June leaves one sister about three years of age, a dear father and mother, and other relatives to mourn, this loss. The mother of this little one formerly was Miss Hazel Bentley.

Funeral services were at the Gove M.E. Church Monday, March 16th, with Rev. D.A. Crist in charge. He was assisted by Rev. D. H. Colvin of Gove. A mixed quartet, consisting of Miss Moyne Tustin, Miss Esther Abell, George Mendenhall and Ernest Trimmer, with Geo. D Royer Jr. at the piano, sang "Abide With Me," "Jesus Lover of My Soul," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Nearer My God to Thee" at the church and at the cemetery "Asleep in Jesus."

Interment was in the Gove cemetery.
