Harmen Jansen Knickerbocker {Van Wie}(1648-1721) was born in Overijssel, Netherlands. When he came to America, and signed his name "Knickerbocker" on a land deed, he is credited with
"inventing" the name in America. Harmen came to New York in 1674. Also, in 1674, he married Lysbet Janse Bogert. Harmen Jansen Knickerbocker died in 1721 in Albany, New York. He would have been buried from the Dutch Church, but in the 1860's all those remains were relocated to the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands. CHILD: Jannetje Knickerbocker (1683-1759).(1683-1759).
