He married Judith in 1753. Their first child Joseph, was born in 1754 in Middlesex County, VA. He was a Revolutionary Soldier. (he is also buried in this cemetery)
Their 2nd and 3rd child were born in Gloucester County, VA.
in 1756 and 1758. Their 4th and remaining children were all born in Amelia County, VA. in 1759 and after.
Joseph bought 600 acres of land in Raleigh Parish on Flatt Creek in Amelia County, VA. on 25 Feb 1762. He also bought in 1773, 200 acres on the upper side of Knibbs Creek.
Joseph built his home in Amelia County that he called "Egglestetton."
He wrote his Will 1 March 1791 and it was probated 24 May 1793 in Amelia County, VA.
In his Will he requested that a brick wall five feet high be built at Grub Hill Church to enclose "as much ground as may be sufficient for as many of his family as choose to be buried there."

William Bently as he is obliged to pay her as long as she shall live. Granddaughter Judeth Egglestone Cocke, Grandson Seth Hodijah Meade.
