VIRGINIA BEACH - O. Melvin Osmundson, 97, of Stowe Road went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 10, 2011 in Virginia Beach. He was born May 6, 1914 in Norfolk County to the late Olaf and Ruby Osmundson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the civil service as an ordinance disposal technician. He was preceded in death by his faithful wife of 62 years, Doris V. Osmundson; brothers, Clifford and Horace Osmundson; and grandson, Alan S. Osmundson. He is survived by daughter, Carolyn Ann Osmundson; three sons, Olaf John and his wife, Diane, Melvin David and his wife Carol, and Lawrence Stefen; grandchildren, Sonja Nikol, Erik Wade, Jakob Davin, Sarah Leigh, Eric David, Phillip Aaron, Andrew Michael and Christopher Patrick; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home Friday, May 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ernest Trueblood officiating.
